When you come into Scott A. Young, DDS to correct your tooth with a dental crown, you will finally have the healthy and attractive tooth you’ve been looking for.

When restoring your tooth with a dental crown in Charlotte, North Carolina, you can expect to make two visits to our dental office, and you can also expect the following treatment steps:

Step 1: Dr. Scott A. Young will first examine your tooth by taking a series of dental X-rays. The X-rays are completely safe. They inform your dentist on the health and condition of your tooth, your tooth’s roots, and the surrounding bone.

Step 2: When you are ready, your dentist will numb the tooth and surrounding area. Then, he will trim the enamel layer of your tooth to make room for the dental crown. This will be a completely painless step.

Step 3: Once your tooth is the correct size, your dentist will make an impression of the tooth and will send that impression to the dental lab where your new crown will be created. While you wait, you will be given a temporary crown.

Step 4: When your new crown is ready, you will need to come into our office for a second appointment. During this visit, your dentist will remove the temporary crown and will cement the new crown into place.
